A Thanksgiving Feast: Lovely Food and Family!

Just a short post today since we are enjoying a rare long weekend with Kristy's sister Jenny and my parents...and we want to spend some quality time with them. But here is a look at our Thanksgiving festivities yesterday.

Most of the afternoon was spent cooking together. This year the menu included:
Sisters in the kitchen. Nathan on camera duty...
And to finish off the meal my mother made Grandma Jennie's Pumpkin Pie! (and generously offered to share the recipe).

Grandma Jennie's Pumpkin Pie
1 can pureed pumpkin
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup cup milk
2 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
Dash of salt

Pour into a prepared pie shell. Back at 450°F for 15 min then 350°F for 45 min until done.
Nathan's signature dish this year: Roasted sweet potatoes.

Kristy showing off her Challah bread.

Slaving away in the kitchen...but loving it!

Don't steal the bread Jenny!

A feast to spend with our lovely family.

Happy holidays everyone!

  1. Lovely! But how do you make your pumpkin purr?! :P

  2. Teehee...a ancient family secret! But really it looks like my editing staff is slacking! (Ahemm Nathan :) )
