For several years, I researched how to start a blog, thought
about what I would want to write, and even signed up for a blogger account.
But I didn’t start writing…
Then I mentioned the idea to Nathan almost a year ago and he
decided that he liked the idea as well. I thought that maybe his participation
would give me the motivation to actually get started, so I spent some more time
setting up the blog and we spent many of our evening walks talking about what
we wanted the blog to be. But I still didn’t start writing…
In September, Nathan started a new job working a
Tuesday-Saturday schedule and we decided that we should make use of our extra
day apart to actually start writing, and Nathan did. But I didn’t quite get
there…
During today’s walk, we discussed why I had so much trouble
getting started. I told him about how I kept getting distracting by planning
what I wanted to write, or how I wanted the blog to look, and essentially
letting my detailed oriented planning/perfectionist side take over. Then he
reminded me that it was important to not let the perfect get in the way of the
good. I just had to begin.
So here it is, my first post. Perhaps not great literature or
even very educational, but it is a start. And I have to start somewhere. Much
like our journey to begin homesteading, there are going to be mistakes and bumps
along the way before this blog approaches my vision for what it could be. But there will also
be growth and learning. So let’s begin this blogging journey and see where it
goes!
Oh my gosh, I love that! (Don't let the perfect get in the way of the good!) Thank you so much for visiting my blog and I am so glad I am not the only one that struggled with getting going. I look forward to getting to know you as well. :)
